African in Brooklyn

Posted with vodpod

Filmmaker Nerina Penzhorn produces and edits “A Walk Around the Blog,” both an online and TV series that profiles Brooklyn bloggers. It is a part of the news magazine program Brooklyn Review that airs on Brooklyn Independent Television. The most recent episode features yours truly playing on-camera host and promoting Africa is a Country (that’s this blog). I interviewed DJ Tsidi (Matale) at Fort Greene restaurant Madiba on his views about democracy, music, immigration and blew the trumpet of Africa is a Country.

Oh, the hat: I am a Brooklyn Nationalist sometimes. That’s not a Redsox hat. It’s blue.

There are two versions of the program. The longer version above and the shorter one.

Enjoy.

Great post! It’s always refreshing to catch glimpses of the African experience across the globe. I also share my African observations at http://www.africanaspects.com
    Stay well!

Great post! And I know that’s already been said. Hey, guess where I’m going next year when I’m on the East Coast…

  3. Nerina Penzhorn is the bestest and the coolest.

  4. PS: I really admire your music knowledge Sean, do you get that from DJ Tsidi?

    Kameraad,
Nerina Penzhorn is the bestest. No doubt.
I like what Tsidi play, but I have my own idiosyncratic relationship to music. From traveling, reading, listening.
