Nigerian sculptor, video artist and photographer, lives in the Chicago (where she teaches). Student of El Anatsui. Okore’s art, in her own words, “… celebrate the transformation of discarded materials into cultural objects, forms, and spaces, and bring a critical focus to bear on the consumption and recycling cultures in [southeastern] Nigeria.” She works with newspapers, wax, cloth, rope, clay and sticks.
