The picture above, unrelated to The Nation piece, was taken in Nairobi, Kenya, after a blast at the US Embassy there, by Leo Rubinfein for his series “Wounded Cities.” The book, published by Steidl focuses on cities that have experienced terrorist attacks. It is part of an exhibit at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
