President Angelina Jolie

‘… Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have called Zimbabwe’s Premier Morgan Tsvangirai to offer condolences over his wife’s death in a car crash, an aide told reporters. “He didn’t manage to speak to them because the line was disconnected,” the premier’s aide told reporters at Tsvangirai’s home, speaking on condition of anonymity. The couple are active in charity work around the world, but have no apparent links to Zimbabwe in particular…’

This story just sounds odd. Not just because celebrity, in order to stay relevant, inserts itself onto tragic circumstances. What’s with the broken telephone and the anonymity? Tsvangirai does not need this.

More that than: Are these two a government now?
