the community organizer

Excellent PBS news documentary on James Thindwa, a Chicago-based community organizer working to ensure the right to organize and the principle of a living wage for workers. Most recently he fronted high profile campaigns at Republic Windows and Doors (where workers took over a bankrupt factory and are running it now) and Walmart (a shortlived victory to get Walmart to pay its workers minimum wages vetoed by the Democratic Mayor of Chicago who is close to President Barack Obama).

Thindwa was born in the then-Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
