Between Earth and Heaven

The Ghanaian artist El Anatshui is all over New York (and the US) this year.

His 2006 sculpture ‘Between Earth and Heaven’ is on show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from next week. Anatsui is also the subject of another exhibit, ‘Zebra Crossing,’ at the Jack Shainman Gallery in Chelsea, Manhattan.

Separatel (and outside New York City) another exhibition of his work is showing at the University of Arizona (including a video tribute on Anatsui by the university public television station) through next weekend (January 20) when it will be moved to Washington for a March opening at the Smithsonian’s National Museum for African Art.
